Rules & Regulations

A.  Each driver must fill out an entry blank.  Entry blank denotes case purse offered.

B.  All rules and regulations must be observed.  Track operators or promoter reserves the right to approve or reject any and all entries.

C.  Only driver and one (1) mechanic will be permitted in the pit area or on track.  Arm bands will be issued and must be displayed at all times.  The entry fee must be cash or money order.  No personal checks.  Entry fee - $20.00 (NO REFUND).  (Do not wait to enter the day of the event.  If you do so, you will be considered a late entry and will be charged a late penalty of $10.00 making it a total of $30.00 to enter.)

D.  Both driver and mechanic must be present when vehicle is inspected and certified.  Also both must be present at driver-mechanic overview meeting held one hour before event.

E.  Members of the Auto Demolition Derby are not employees of the track operators or the promoter of the Auto Demolition Derby.

F.  NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES are allowed in pit area.  Drivers or Pit crews caught drinking disqualifies their car and driver.

Drivers Entry

1.  Drivers must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license in their possession.  (Sixteen years of age with a notarized parental medical statement.)

2.  All drivers must supply their own cars.  Limit of two cars per a driver per a night.

3.  All drivers and cars must be entered and at the track 2 hours before the scheduled starting time of derby.

4.  Participants are required to sign a release and waiver of liability and indemnity agreement before entering any restricted area.

5.  Enter early!  There will a 60 car limit set per derby.  Drivers may enter all derbies.

6.  You must paint the car number provided on the Official Entry Blank, that you return, on front driver and passenger car doors in 24 inch WHITE letters.

Participation Regulations

1.  Full-Size Stock Hardtop Automobile or Station Wagons domestic & foreign are allowed.   This year we will allow (4 Cyl.) Auto's to complete in their own heat if there are enough entered.  Compacts must have a wheel base of at least 100" inches (center of front hub to center of rear hub.)  Please take note that some compacts cannot compete against the larger full-size automobiles with a degree of safety.  If you have one of these cares, you would be required to have another full size car that had also competed in a heat during the derby.   No trucks, jeeps, hearses, ambulances, convertibles or Chrysler Imperials.

2.  All glass and chrome trim and anything that might become imbedded in the track, must be removed from the car before bringing auto to the grounds.  Also, car must be cleaned out, including trunk.  Fire walls must remain in place.  They cannot be sectioned or deleted.  Do not leave broken glass in doors, clean them out.  Windshields must be removed.  Safety air bags must be removed along with the explosive air bag engagement charges.  Vehicles with Sun Roofs may be utilized as long as a piece of metal is placed in the opening with the attachment screws from the inside out.

3.  Tires must be stock size, 4 ply only, Mud & Snow Okay, no inner liner, no truck or light truck tires, no spoke rims.  Tires can only be filled with air, no fluids or solids (tires within a tire are considered reinforcements)  (Tires marked tubeless may have tubes inserted in them)  Remove all wheel balance weights.

4.  A maximum of five (5) gallons of gasoline will be allowed.  Gas tanks may be moved to the trunk but will not be allowed in driver's compartment unless covered by a metal firewall.   Only unleaded gasoline with a maximum octane level of 93 will be permitted.  Boosted or Racing Fuel will not be allowed.  If you have a car equipped with a fuel pump in the gas tank, call (1-888-361-5767) for special instructions on the procedure of movement of the gas tank.   Gas lines or fuel pumps will not be permitted to be run within the drivers compartment.

5.  Only One (1) stock battery will be allowed.  A maximum or 850 cold cranking amps will be permitted.  It may be moved into the passenger floorboard area but must be mounted and covered for the participants own protection.

6.  No reinforcements of any kind will be allowed.  Only exception will be the driver side front door.  Trailer hitches or any type of stiffening device are considered reinforcements.  You may Weld rear ends or differentials to create a positive traction rear end.  Welding of bumper shocks are considered reinforcements.  Maximum bumper height is 24 inches from the ground to the center of the bumper. 

7.  Standard exhaust system may be removed or cut off just aft of the fire wall.  Not permitted:  additional headers, stacks, custom manifolds, etc.

8.  Do not weld or bolt hood or trunk lids down.  Use wire.  All doors must be Chained shut or secured with wire (wire is preferred on at least one door to allow for quick removal of injured participants).  If doors are welded a maximum of two, four inch welds in length of the two vertical seams per a door will be permitted.  If a driver's side door comes open, he or she will be disqualified. 

9.  A 12 by 15 inch hole must be cut into the center of hood.  To allow for early fire detection.

10.  All fan blades must be removed.  Only exception will be if your car is equipped with a slip clutch fan blade and fan shroud or came stock with an electric fan and shroud.  You may create your own fan shroud out of some type of thin metal material & replace stiff original fans with slip clutch fans.

11.  Prior to bringing cars to Fairgrounds, radiators must be drained and back flushed of all antifreeze coolants.  They then can be refilled with water or the new naturally biodegradable coolant "Sierra" distributed be Safe Brands Corporation; Omaha, Nebraska. 

12.  Safety belts, helmets and impact resistant eye protectors are required.  If car was equipped with a shoulder restrained system including lap belt, both must be used.  Driver can be disqualified at any time if either belt or helmet is removed during a heat. 

13.  Drivers may maneuver forward or backward.  No deliberate head-on collisions or deliberately ramming a driver's door.  This can lead to disqualification.

14.  A time limit will be set by the judges.  If a driver does not hit a live car  within the time limit, this can lead to disqualification.  Do not play possum.

15.  All cars must be removed from grounds by the owner no later than 10:00 AM the next day following the derby.  This is your responsibility, so make arrangements before derby time.

16.  The derby will be composed of individual heats and a feature heat with cash prizes and trophies going to each heat winner and grand prize to feature winner.  If derby is a multiple show derby, the feature heat will be held during the last show.  Feature heat will be comprised of winners from each heat of each show.  This show will have a designated Best Appearance Theme: Sponge Bob Square Pants & Friends.

17.  Additional Safety Regulations may be imposed depending on the track.  Rules are subject to change to fit event.  If you have any safety concerns, do not hesitate to ask.  Call 1-888-361-5767.  The decision of judge is final.  Any driver not obeying the rules will  be disqualified.
